The government has demanded a revolution in housing design and set the target for all new homes to be carbon neutral in ten years. The public wants well designed places to live, work and enjoy. But CABE , the government’s advisor on architecture and urban design, has found that the quality of a substantial minority of developments – 29 per cent – is so low they should not have been given planning consent.

CREATE:MKSM exists to promote good design in Milton Keynes and the South Midlands where over 170,000 new homes and jobs are planned by 2021. CREATE:MKSM aims to raise the bar of good design by inspiring, encouraging and helping all those involved in development and growth in MKSM.

This site is under development and will in time be developed as resource for information and best practice on architecture and urban design accross Milton Keynes and the South Midlands.
